Paul Morgan is a consultant solicitor who joined the firm in 2003. He qualified as a solicitor in 1992 and has practised exclusively in criminal defence work since that date.
Paul is a Higher Rights Advocate and is regularly instructed to appear in Crown Courts throughout London and the South East and the Court of Appeal. He was recently led by Tim Greene (a solicitor advocate with the firm) in the successful defence of an animal rights campaigner in an 18 week trial Birmingham Crown Court who had been accused of conspiracy to interfere with the contractual relationships of an animal research organisation. Paul has had involvement in a wide range of criminal matters including conspiracy to defraud, serious sexual offences, high-profile murder cases, and terrorism cases.
He is a duty solicitor on many local police station and court schemes and appears regularly as an advocate in the magistrates courts around London.
Paul has also been involved in providing training talks and seminars, on subjects such as trial advocacy and preparing cases for trial. He has also provided training for the LCCSA on the new police powers introduced by SOCPA.
Before joining Birds Solicitors, Paul was a partner at Lawrence Davies and latterly a consultant with Hodge Jones & Allen.
